WORDS HE LIVES BY: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

As President and Founder of John Bell Construction, Morejon inspires and empowers his team to strive for total excellence. His drive and curiosity gave birth to a culture of continuous learning, determination, and success unlike any seen before. A natural leader, Morejon became the man and founder he is today thanks to his family and his faith. If it wasn’t for his father’s lessons in hard work and teachings of the value of a dollar, Morejon would likely not be where he is today.

See, when Morejon turned 15 years old, he asked his father, Rafael Morejon, for a car. His father said he’d get him a Ferrari. The following day, Rafael gave his son a pressure cleaner and said that if he pressure cleaned enough houses, he could buy whatever car he wanted, including the coveted Ferrari. From that day on, Morejon pressure cleaned, painted, and repaired his way through college and beyond. It was during that time that he founded his first company, a handyman business, and then landed a job at the prestigious Suffolk Construction. There, he rose from intern to Assistant Superintendent at the MET 3 project in Downtown Miami, where he managed over $150M worth of work and built one of the most iconic buildings in this city.

Despite his success, Morejon still felt that being a business owner was his true calling. He kept seeing that the market needed a construction company that showed up on time, was fairly priced, and was SET APART from the other contractors. So he, along with his supportive wife, Isabella Morejon, did what came naturally to them; they prayed on it. They put their family and financial future in the hands of God. It wasn’t until they felt His presence and received His calling that they decided, together, to pursue their dream. That’s when John Bell Construction was born.

Since then, Morejon has been recognized as an outstanding professional in the South Florida Business Journal’s 2020 40 under 40 Awards and has joined Florida International University’s Dean’s Leadership Council for the College of Engineering & Computing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he has successfully been able to lead, maintain, and support his staff and projects while still keeping the company’s culture intact.

Morejon holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Florida International University and is a State Certified General Contractor.

Albert L. Faz III is one of our Founder’s oldest childhood friends. This friendship, along with a master’s degree in Accounting from Long Island University and his desire to be an entrepreneur, is what led to Faz to join Morejon’s side mere months after the company’s creation. Not long after entering the team, Faz single-handedly took over the company’s financing and bookkeeping. He’s been ensuring success in the company’s financial front ever since.

During the 2020 global pandemic, Faz has kept John Bell Construction’s finances stable by closely monitoring all of the company’s expenditures and incoming payments. His efforts help the company stay afloat during these crazy times.

WORDS HE LIVES BY: “In life, like in business, obstacles are inevitable. It is how we respond to these challenges that make us who we are.”

When we say that John Bell Construction is built on faith, family and teamwork - we aren’t joking. Jazz Machin and our Founder, Oscar Morejon, have been best friends their whole lives, to the point where they consider each other brothers. It was Morejon’s love of construction, strong conviction, and faith that led Machin to joining the John Bell team. His bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Marketing only strengthened his position in the company. He’s now finding that his own love of construction grows every day.

At the beginning of the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, Machin searched high and low for ways to keep the staff working efficiently while working remotely. Through the use of virtual meetings, online onboarding, and more, he made keeping John Bell Construction up to date a thing of high-tech beauty.
